Mark Hennessy, MD
Dr. Mark Hennessy is a native of California. He graduated from the University of California with degrees in both Biology and Psychology. He then spent a year participating in neurophysiology research at Stanford University prior to attending medical school at the University of Illinois.
After graduating from medical school, Dr. Hennessy completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Women & Infants Hospital at Brown University. He then completed a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center.
Dr. Hennessy is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Hennessy is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he has practiced high risk obstetrics since 1992. In addition to his busy obstetrical practice he performs academic research and has been published in various medical journals. His research interests include high-risk pregnancy conditions, especially hypertension and diabetes. He is a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
