Tripp nelson, md
Dr. Nelson is originally from Greenville, South Carolina. He completed his undergraduate degree at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.
Dr. Nelson returned to his home state of South Carolina and completed medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). After medical school, he remained at the MUSC and completed residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology and a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. While at MUSC, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Society and received the J. Marion Sims Award for surgical excellence.
He joined HiROC and the University of Tennessee Medical Center in 2020 after spending three years as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and in practice with Regional Obstetrical Consultants. He currently serves as the Medical Director of Obstetrics.
Dr. Nelson is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, a member of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. He is board certified in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. His areas of special interest include morbidly adherent placentation, alloimmunization in pregnancy, and diagnostic genetic evaluation.
